Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Job Type: 8:30am -4pm

Location: Tower Hamlets   

Salary: £96-£110 Per day

The Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets

In this role, you will provide dedicated 1:1 and in class support to students with ADHD, Challenging Behaviour and Autism, helping them engage with their learning in a positive and structured environment. You will work 1:1 and in classrooms with students across KS1 and KS2, providing tailored support acting as a role model and shaping young children’s start in life.

This role involves building strong, positive relationships with students—especially those who benefit from consistent boundaries and relatable role models.

A Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be expected to:

• Provide personalised academic and emotional support in and out of the classroom
• Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals
• Use behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm, supportive learning environment
• Support students in developing independence, confidence, and communication skills
• Act as a trusted mentor and positive presence for pupils who may be reluctant learners

Qualifications and requirements – Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets  

• Experience in a similar role
• Experience working with SEND needs particularly Challenging Behaviour
• Enhanced DBS is required
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
