Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £120 - £130 per day, dependent on experience and qualificationsEducate Staffing is proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected and inclusive primary school in Stanmore, North London, to recruit an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time role commencing in September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed individual who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning, and who is eager to make a meaningful contribution to pupil progress and well-being within a vibrant school community.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across a variety of year groups. You will be expected to lead small group sessions, provide targeted interventions, and cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher. This role requires someone who is confident, proactive, and capable of delivering high-quality learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Support class teachers in planning and delivering effective lessons
Lead whole-class teaching during teacher absence or release time
Deliver targeted support and interventions to small groups and individual pupils
Assist in the assessment and tracking of pupil progress
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment
Contribute to the development of learning resources and support materials
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals as needed
Essential Requirements:
HLTA status or an equivalent qualification in education, such as a bachelor’s degree
A minimum of one year’s experience working in a HLTA or similar capacity within a school setting
An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable Attributes:
Experience working in Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
Familiarity with the UK national curriculum
Training in safeguarding and first aid
