Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am - 4pm
Location: Kingston Upon Thames
Salary: £96-£105
The Role: Teaching Assistant –Kingston Upon Thames
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom teachers by providing effective assistance to pupils of a lower ability. You will work both one-to-one and with small groups, helping to reinforce classroom learning, improve confidence, and support children in overcoming barriers to education.
Your role will be diverse and dynamic, ranging from assisting with lesson preparation and resource management to delivering targeted interventions and supporting behaviour management strategies. You will help create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment where all pupils feel valued and motivated.
A Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and supporting pupils’ learning activities
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and help pupils understand tasks.
- Carrying out group interventions with children of low abilities in English, Maths and Science
- Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Prepare classroom materials, resources, and displays.
- Assist with maintaining records of pupil performance and behaviour.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, self-esteem, and positive social interactions.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills.
Qualifications and requirements –Teaching Assistant – Kingston Upon Thames
- Experience in a similar role/ Leading Interventions
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
