Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Haringey, London
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £120 – £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the borough of Haringey, starting in September 2025. This full-time role is ideal for an HLTA who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and contributing to a dynamic school community.

As an HLTA, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality classroom support, lead small group interventions, and occasionally take responsibility for whole class teaching in the absence of the class teacher. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils' progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons under the direction of the class teacher.

• Lead targeted intervention groups across a range of subjects, particularly literacy and numeracy.

• Provide high-quality classroom cover as required, following planned lesson content.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCO as appropriate.

• Support pupils with varying levels of ability, including those with special educational needs (SEN).

Requirements:

• HLTA status (Level 4 or equivalent qualification).

• Proven experience working as an HLTA or in a similar capacity in a UK primary school.

• Excellent understanding of the primary curriculum.

• Confident in managing a classroom and delivering lessons to whole groups.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• A proactive, enthusiastic, and resilient attitude.
