Job Type: 8:30am -4pm

Location: Barking and Dagenham

Salary: £96-£105*Depending on Expeirence

The Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Barking and Dagenham

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant,  you will have the opportunity to aid the development of students with SEN needs academic and social skills through carrying out interventions and supporting a students with needs, including Autism, ADHD, Challenging behaviour and Physical Needs.

A Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be expected to:

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs including Autism, ADHD and Challenging Behaviour
  • Lead Social, Maths and English interventions with groups of SEN students
  • Adapt teaching materials and methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities
  • Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Provide emotional support and encourage social interaction.
  • Observe and record progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Report concerns to the teacher or SENCO
  • Encourage independence and build student confidence

Qualifications and requirements – Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Barking and Dagenham

  • Experience in a similar role/ Leading Interventions
  • Experience working with SEN needs
  • Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
