Full-Time Behaviour Mentor – Barnet
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Barnet, North London
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive – Based on experience and qualificationsEducate Staffing is proud to be working with a forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Barnet, North London, to recruit a Behaviour Mentor for a full-time position starting in September 2025.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, improving engagement, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted support to pupils displaying challenging behaviours
Develop and implement behaviour strategies and interventions in line with individual needs
Support the development of pupils' social and emotional skills through 1:1 and small group work
Work closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies accordingly
Build trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being and academic engagement
Maintain accurate records and contribute to behaviour plans and reports
Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (school-based experience preferred)
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies
Ability to build rapport with children and act as a positive role model
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to behaviour support
Relevant training in behaviour or safeguarding (Team Teach or similar is an advantage)
