Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting EYFS pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), both one-to-one and in small groups.

  • Delivering targeted interventions as directed by the school’s SENCo or Speech and Language Therapist.

  • Assisting with communication-friendly classroom strategies.

  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress, and feeding back to staff and specialists.

  • Using visual aids, PECS, Makaton, or other tools to support non-verbal or minimally verbal children.

  • Collaborating with class teachers and external professionals to adapt teaching approaches.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with SLCN, ideally in an EYFS or primary school setting.

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing manner.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).

  • A background in speech and language, SEN support, or early years development is highly desirable.

Why Join This School?

  • Ofsted-rated Outstanding – with exceptional early years provision and a strong SEND ethos.

  • Supportive leadership and a committed inclusion team.

  • Access to ongoing training and potential career progression.

  • Warm and inclusive school community that values every child’s voice.

  • Purpose-built EYFS facilities and well-resourced intervention spaces.
