Location: Barnet, North London
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm
£100 – £110 per day (depending on experience)

An Outstanding primary school in Barnet is seeking a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS team. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience supporting early communication development, particularly in children aged 3–5, and who can work closely with teachers and specialists to deliver tailored interventions.Key Responsibilities:
Supporting EYFS pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), both one-to-one and in small groups.
Delivering targeted interventions as directed by the school’s SENCo or Speech and Language Therapist.
Assisting with communication-friendly classroom strategies.
Monitoring and recording pupil progress, and feeding back to staff and specialists.
Using visual aids, PECS, Makaton, or other tools to support non-verbal or minimally verbal children.
Collaborating with class teachers and external professionals to adapt teaching approaches.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting children with SLCN, ideally in an EYFS or primary school setting.
Familiarity with communication strategies such as PECs, Makaton, or other AAC methods.
A calm, patient, and nurturing manner.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
A background in speech and language, SEN support, or early years development is highly desirable.
