Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Job Type: ASAP Start, 8:30am -4pm
Location: Merton
Salary: £96-£101*Depending on Expeirence

The Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Merton
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to aid the development of students with Autism’s academic and social skills through carrying out interventions and supporting a student with Autism within class.
A Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs including Autism
- Lead Social, Maths and English interventions with groups of SEN students
- Adapt teaching materials and methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities
- Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
- Provide emotional support and encourage social interaction.
- Observe and record progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Report concerns to the teacher or SENCO
- Encourage independence and build student confidence
Qualifications and requirements – Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Merton
- Experience in a similar role/ Leading Interventions
- Experience working with SEN needs
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
