Teaching Assistant – Full-Time 

Location: Islington, North London
Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Salary: £96 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Long-term with potential for permanent placement
Start Date: ASAP
DBS Requirement: Must have an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)


Are you a caring, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on your strengths and experience.

  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and support progress.

  • Assist the class teacher in preparing resources and delivering high-quality lessons.

  • Support children with varying levels of ability, including those with mild SEND or EAL needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils engage confidently with learning tasks.

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress to the teacher and wider team.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working in a primary school setting (preferred but not essential).

  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and confident working with children.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be adaptable, patient, and willing to take initiative.

  • Be passionate about education and committed to the wellbeing of pupils.

  • Be open to working with pupils with additional needs or behavioural challenges when required.


Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Able to commit to a full-time, term-time role (8:30am – 3:30pm).

  • Two relevant references.
