About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs, the successful Teaching Assistant will help deliver personalised learning plans and create a nurturing environment that promotes inclusion and development. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Assist the class teacher in preparing and adapting resources
Foster positive relationships with students to support social and emotional development
Monitor pupil progress and feedback to teaching staff and parents
Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all pupils
Contribute to classroom management and a positive learning environment as a proactive Teaching Assistant
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting is essential
Strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies
Valid Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with children with complex needs
A genuine desire to build a career as a Teaching Assistant within a specialist setting
