A warm and welcoming SEN primary school in Hayes, Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their committed team.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs, the successful Teaching Assistant will help deliver personalised learning plans and create a nurturing environment that promotes inclusion and development. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN

  • Assist the class teacher in preparing and adapting resources

  • Foster positive relationships with students to support social and emotional development

  • Monitor pupil progress and feedback to teaching staff and parents

  • Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all pupils

  • Contribute to classroom management and a positive learning environment as a proactive Teaching Assistant

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting is essential

  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies

  • Valid Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with children with complex needs

  • A genuine desire to build a career as a Teaching Assistant within a specialist setting
