Job Type: Full Time, 8:30am -3:30pm

Location: Sutton

Salary: £90-100

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive school community. You will be expected to support an EAL student on a 1:1 basis with the opportunity to aid to a student's development. The successful candidate will provide individual support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that they have equal opportunities for academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a specific student with SEN, providing tailored assistance and support in various learning activities.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement personalized learning plans and accommodations for the student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting the social and emotional well-being of the student.
  • Utilise different strategies and resources to cater to the student's specific learning style and needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals involved in the student's education.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN needs is essential
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and their impact on learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Day-to-day

  • Provide one-on-one support and assistance to the student with SEN during classroom activities.
  • Implement strategies and accommodations outlined in the student's individual education plan.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to monitor the student's progress and make necessary adjustments to support their learning.
