About the Role

We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming 2-form entry mainstream primary school in Watford. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team of teachers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for a KS1 class.

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners.

  • Work collaboratively with the parallel class teacher in this 2-form entry setting to share planning and best practice.

  • Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development, as well as their academic progress.

  • Establish strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in Key Stage 1.

  • A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.

  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and support pupils of all abilities.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues and parents.

  • A collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Benefits

  • Join a supportive and collaborative teaching team within a 2-form entry school.

  • Opportunity to share planning and resources with a parallel teacher.

  • A welcoming school community with a focus on professional development.

  • Competitive pay, with the potential for the role to continue long-term.

  • Supportive senior leadership who value staff well-being and development.
