We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming 2-form entry mainstream primary school in Watford. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team of teachers and support staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Key Stage 1 class, ensuring high standards of learning, achievement, and behaviour. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, support individual learning needs, and contribute fully to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for a KS1 class.
Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners.
Work collaboratively with the parallel class teacher in this 2-form entry setting to share planning and best practice.
Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development, as well as their academic progress.
Establish strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities where appropriate.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in Key Stage 1.
A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
The ability to inspire, motivate, and support pupils of all abilities.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues and parents.
A collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
