Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am – 4pm
Location: Lambeth
Salary: £96–£105 Per dayThe Role: Learning Support Assistant – Lambeth
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with Autism within a mainstream primary school in Lambeth. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support that helps pupils access the curriculum, develop key skills, and make progress both academically and socially.
You will support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, focusing on communication, engagement, and emotional regulation. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and helping children with additional needs thrive in a school environment.
A Learning Support Assistant will be expected to:
• Support pupils with Autism across different year groups
• Deliver structured interventions and classroom support tailored to individual needs
• Adapt learning materials and activities to suit a variety of learning styles
• Use visual aids and alternative communication methods to support understanding
• Encourage positive behaviour and manage emotional regulation in line with the school’s policies
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists
• Foster independence, confidence, and inclusion for pupils in the classroom and during break timesQualifications and Requirements – Learning Support Assistant – Lambeth
• Previous experience supporting children with Autism or other SEND in a school or similar setting
• A good understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions and relevant support strategies
• Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) is essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
