This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to support pupils with a variety of special educational needs and play a key role in their academic and personal development.
Unlike some support roles, this SEN TA position is timetabled across different year groups. You will not be working with the same children all day, but instead providing support in a structured way to pupils in various classes. Providing in-class support across different year groups, following a set timetable.
Assisting teachers in delivering lessons that are accessible and engaging for pupils with additional needs.
Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Encouraging independence, confidence, and resilience in pupils.
Helping to manage behaviour positively and promote inclusion across the school.
Monitoring progress and reporting back to teachers and the SENCO to help inform next steps.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure pupils’ needs are met.
Requirements
To be successful as an SEN TA, you should have:
Experience supporting children with SEN in a school, childcare, or community setting (desirable but not essential).
Flexibility and adaptability, with the confidence to work with different year groups and needs.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
A proactive attitude with the ability to follow guidance and also show initiative.
A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Benefits
In return for your commitment, you will receive:
A competitive daily rate, paid weekly.
A full-time role starting as soon as possible, with the potential for a permanent contract.
The opportunity to work across year groups, gaining varied experience.
A supportive school environment with strong leadership and a collaborative team.
Ongoing training and development to help you progress in your career as an SEN TA.
The rewarding experience of making a real difference to children’s education and wellbeing.
If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated individual ready to take on this exciting SEN TA role in Hounslow, we would love to hear from you.
