Contract Type: Full-time, long-termEducate Staffing is currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Ealing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a lasting impact on their education and personal development.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils who require additional help. You will play an important role in ensuring children with SEN can access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Assist teachers in delivering lessons that are engaging and accessible for all pupils.
Adapt resources and activities to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and confidence in children.
Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teachers and the SENCO.
Help to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with staff and, where appropriate, external professionals to support pupil development.
Requirements
To be successful as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school, childcare, or similar setting (desirable but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
The ability to work under the guidance of teachers while also showing initiative.
Flexibility and enthusiasm to support pupils across a range of needs.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
