Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am – 4pm
Location: Southwark
Salary: £96–£105 Per day
The Role: Learning Support Assistant – Southwark
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting primary school students with Autism, ADHD, and associated learning needs across various year groups. You will help pupils access the curriculum through one-to-one and small group support, delivering tailored interventions and assisting in the classroom under the guidance of experienced teaching staff.
You will be based within a supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school setting in the Southwark area, working with a dedicated team of educators and specialists to ensure each pupil can reach their full potential both academically and socially.
A Learning Support Assistant will be expected to:
• Support students with Autism, ADHD, and associated behavioural and learning needs
• Deliver targeted interventions in English, Maths, and Social Skills
• Adapt lesson content and activities to meet a range of individual learning styles
• Encourage positive behaviour and manage low-level disruptions in line with the school’s behaviour policy
• Foster emotional well-being and social interaction among pupils
• Monitor, record and report on pupil progress and behaviour
• Liaise effectively with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals
• Promote independence and boost self-esteem in pupilsQualifications and Requirements – Learning Support Assistant – Southwark
• Prior experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and ADHD
• Experience delivering interventions or one-to-one support
• Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) is essential
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
