Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am - 4pm
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £96-£110 Per Day
The Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students access the curriculum and develop essential life skills. You will support learners both 1:1 and in small groups, encouraging confidence, independence, and resilience while adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and needs. The role involves assisting students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation, as well as using positive behaviour strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging situations in a calm and consistent manner. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals, you will contribute to the delivery of personalised learning plans and help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported and able to succeed.

A Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students across Year 7 – Year 9, helping them access learning and develop independence.
- Assist in creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning plans.
