Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am – 4pm
Location: Camden
Salary: £96-£110 Per day
The Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Camden
As a SEN TA in KS2, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including those with Autism, ADHD, Global Delay and speech and language needs. You will provide targeted one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access lessons, develop essential skills, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Your role will also include assisting teachers in planning and adapting activities, encouraging positive behaviour, and supporting pupils in developing independence, resilience, and a love of learning. You will play a vital part in preparing children for the transition to secondary school, ensuring they feel confident, supported, and ready for the next stage of their education.
A Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to KS2 pupils with additional needs.
- Adapt resources and activities to make learning accessible and engaging.
- Support pupils in developing literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation through effective strategies.
- Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to deliver individual education plans.
- Track and record progress, feeding back to teachers and parents/carers.
- Promote independence and confidence in pupils as they prepare for secondary education.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within KS2.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Confidence in supporting learning across the curriculum
