Full-Time | Term Time Only | September StartAre you a confident, compassionate, and skilled Behaviour Mentor with experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour? A welcoming primary school in the Welwyn/Hatfield district is looking for the right person to join their dedicated team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on young lives while working closely with staff, parents, and school leadership.
The Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:- Support pupils with SEN who display challenging behaviour, both in and out of the classroom
- Develop and implement tailored behaviour management strategies
- Build positive relationships to promote emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Work closely with school leaders, teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Contribute to pupil progress reviews and behaviour support plans
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Proven experience working with primary-aged children with SEN and behavioural needs
✅ Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Resilience, patience, and a calm, consistent approach
✅ Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary teamDesirable:
- Experience working in a school setting
- Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management, SEN, or child development
