Job Title: KS2 Teacher
Job Type: 8am – 4pm
Location: Lewisham
Salary: £140- £200
The Role: KS2 Teacher – Lewisham
As a KS2 teacher in a specialist SEN school, you will play a vital role in delivering a tailored and inclusive education to pupils with speech and language difficulties and autism. Your role involves creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each child. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons that promote communication, social interaction, and academic progress, often using visual aids, structured routines, and alternative communication methods such as PECS or Makaton. Working closely with speech and language therapists, teaching assistants, and other professionals, you will implement targeted strategies to support language development and emotional regulation, while fostering independence and confidence in every pupil. Strong collaboration with families and a commitment to a child-centered approach are key to ensuring each pupil reaches their full potential.
As a KS2 Teacher you will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment.
- Implement school behaviours policies and manage classroom behaviours effectively.
- Regularly assess student progress through observation, marking, tests, and formative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of each pupil’s development.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external specialists when needed
Qualifications and requirements – KS2 Teacher – Lewisham
- QTS is required
- Experience teaching SEN students in KS2
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
