Salary: Main Pay Scale (MPS), dependent on experience

About the Role

A highly regarded and welcoming primary school in Stevenage is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teacher to join their team on a fixed-term contract from September 2025.

This full-time role is ideal for a qualified teacher with recent experience teaching in KS2 who is looking for a new opportunity in a supportive, well-resourced school. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, managing pupil progress, and contributing to the wider school community.

The school has a strong ethos of collaboration, high expectations for behaviour and learning, and a nurturing approach to pupil development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, effective, and well-structured lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum

  • Track and assess pupil progress to ensure all learners make measurable gains

  • Provide a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports engagement and positive behaviour

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including support staff and subject leads, to enhance pupil outcomes

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing

  • Contribute to school initiatives, events, and enrichment activities as part of the teaching team


Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Recent experience teaching in a Key Stage 2 classroom (minimum one year preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum

  • Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills

  • A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
