Salary: Main Pay Scale (MPS), dependent on experienceAbout the Role
A highly regarded and welcoming primary school in Stevenage is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teacher to join their team on a fixed-term contract from September 2025.
This full-time role is ideal for a qualified teacher with recent experience teaching in KS2 who is looking for a new opportunity in a supportive, well-resourced school. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, managing pupil progress, and contributing to the wider school community.
The school has a strong ethos of collaboration, high expectations for behaviour and learning, and a nurturing approach to pupil development.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, effective, and well-structured lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
Track and assess pupil progress to ensure all learners make measurable gains
Provide a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports engagement and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with colleagues, including support staff and subject leads, to enhance pupil outcomes
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing
Contribute to school initiatives, events, and enrichment activities as part of the teaching team
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Recent experience teaching in a Key Stage 2 classroom (minimum one year preferred)
Strong knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum
Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
