About the Role

A welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025 on a full-time contract.

This role is ideal for an experienced teaching assistant passionate about supporting children in either Year 1 and 2 as they develop their core skills in a nurturing school environment. You will assist with classroom activities, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children in Year 1 and Year 2 with their learning and development

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils who need additional assistance

  • Help foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Contribute to classroom management and behaviour support

  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals as required


Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in KS1 or early years settings

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach

  • Good understanding of KS1 curriculum and pupil development (preferred)

  • Ability to support literacy and numeracy activities

  • Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team
