Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am -4pm
Location: Hillingdon
Salary: £96-£115 Per day
The Role: Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Hillingdon
In this rewarding role, you'll help the student develop emotional regulation, implement tailored behaviour strategies, and promote positive learning experiences throughout the day. The ability to build trust, maintain consistency, and support a structured routine is essential. You’ll also work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
A Special Needs Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Deliver focused 1:1 support to a student with behavioural and emotional needs
- Lead intervention sessions in English, Maths, and social skills for small groups of SEND learners
- Adapt resources and teaching approaches to suit individual learning profiles
- Support behaviour management in line with school policies, including using de-escalation techniques
- Offer emotional support and promote meaningful social interactions
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing regular feedback to the SENCO and class teacher
- Foster student independence and self-confidence through consistent encouragement
Qualifications and requirements – Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Hillingdon
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience working with SEND needs particularly Challenging Behaviour
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
