About the Role:

Educate Staffing is working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Camden, seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children's learning in upper primary, with a desire to make a positive impact on their academic and personal development.

The role involves providing general classroom support as well as targeted interventions for pupils who may need additional help to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across the KS2 curriculum.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those who require additional learning support.

  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and creating learning resources.

  • Foster a positive learning environment that supports pupil independence and confidence.

  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and supporting the assessment process.

  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team, SENCO, and parents to ensure that all pupils' needs are met.

  • Contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular activities and school events.

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils in the school.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience supporting children in a Key Stage 2 setting.

  • Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and an understanding of how to support differentiated learning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.

  • Strong behaviour management skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.

  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

  • First Aid or safeguarding training (training can be provided).

  • Experience delivering catch-up interventions in literacy and numeracy.

Benefits:

  • Be part of a friendly and supportive school environment in the heart of Camden.

  • Access to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

  • Work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders committed to your career growth.

  • Gain valuable experience in a well-resourced Key Stage 2 setting.

  • Make a meaningful difference in children's academic and personal progress.
