Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching to a Year 5 class in line with the National Curriculum.

• Plan and assess effectively to meet the diverse needs of learners and ensure good progress for all pupils.

• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and personal development.

• Work collaboratively with year group colleagues to plan and deliver a cohesive curriculum.

• Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and staff to support learning and pastoral needs.

• Contribute to school-wide initiatives and participate fully in the life of the school.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) – essential.

• Proven experience or strong understanding of teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5.

• Secure knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment practices.

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

• A reflective, enthusiastic, and committed approach to teaching.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
