Contract Type: Part-Time (Thursdays and Fridays) | Fixed-TermWe are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Primary Teacher to join our vibrant and nurturing school community in St Albans, Hertfordshire, beginning in September 2025. This role will involve teaching across Year 2 and Year 4 on a two-day basis (every Thursday and Friday).

About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding teaching position that involves working with two delightful year groups:
Year 2: Building foundational literacy, numeracy, and learning skills in a supportive and structured environment
Year 4: Encouraging greater independence, critical thinking, and academic curiosity as pupils progress through Key Stage 2
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum
Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages pupil participation and confidence
Assessing and monitoring pupil progress effectively, providing clear feedback and next steps for learning
Collaborating closely with parallel class teachers and support staff to ensure curriculum continuity and a cohesive learning experience across the school week
Maintaining clear communication with parents and carers to support children’s development both in and out of the classroom
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience teaching in a UK primary setting
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a sound understanding of effective classroom practice
Is confident teaching across different year groups and adapting to varying developmental needs
Shows initiative, creativity, and a genuine passion for inspiring young learners
Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, pupils, and families
Is committed to supporting the school’s inclusive ethos and contributing positively to school life
