Contract Type: Part-Time (Thursdays and Fridays) | Fixed-Term

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Primary Teacher to join our vibrant and nurturing school community in St Albans, Hertfordshire, beginning in September 2025. This role will involve teaching across Year 2 and Year 4 on a two-day basis (every Thursday and Friday).

Whether you are seeking a better work-life balance, returning to teaching after a career break, or simply looking to make a meaningful impact in a part-time capacity, we warmly invite you to apply.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding teaching position that involves working with two delightful year groups:

  • Year 2: Building foundational literacy, numeracy, and learning skills in a supportive and structured environment

  • Year 4: Encouraging greater independence, critical thinking, and academic curiosity as pupils progress through Key Stage 2

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum

  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages pupil participation and confidence

  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress effectively, providing clear feedback and next steps for learning

  • Collaborating closely with parallel class teachers and support staff to ensure curriculum continuity and a cohesive learning experience across the school week

  • Maintaining clear communication with parents and carers to support children’s development both in and out of the classroom

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience teaching in a UK primary setting

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a sound understanding of effective classroom practice

  • Is confident teaching across different year groups and adapting to varying developmental needs

  • Shows initiative, creativity, and a genuine passion for inspiring young learners

  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, pupils, and families

  • Is committed to supporting the school’s inclusive ethos and contributing positively to school life

What We Offer

  • A welcoming and inclusive school community with a strong team spirit

  • Supportive and approachable leadership committed to staff well-being

  • A well-resourced, safe, and engaging learning environment

  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training tailored to individual goals

  • A culture that values work-life balance and recognises the importance of flexible working arrangements

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to re-enter the profession or seeking a flexible part-time role in a positive and forward-thinking school environment.
