Job Title: Year 2 Teacher

Job Type: 8am – 4pm  

Location: Redbridge

Salary: £140- £200

The Role: Year 2 Teacher – Croydon

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for the vital stage in a child's education. In this role, you will help pupils develop increased independence, deepen their understanding across the curriculum, and prepare confidently for their transition into Key Stage 2. You will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners, with a strong focus on developing core skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

You will be preparing children for their SATS, while ensuring that the learning experience remains supportive, balanced, and child-centred. You will create a safe, stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued, motivated, and eager to learn. Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues is central to the role, as is working collaboratively with support staff and the wider teaching team to ensure all children make meaningful progress.

As a Year 2 Teacher you will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies
• Prepare Children for SATS assessments
• Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment.
• Implement school behaviours policies and manage classroom behaviours effectively.
• Regularly assess student progress through observation, marking, tests, and formative assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of each pupil’s development.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external specialists when needed

Qualifications and requirements – Year 2 Teacher – Redbridge

• QTS is required
• Enhanced DBS is required
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
