Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time OnlyThe Role:
A primary school in Barnet is seeking an experienced and dedicated Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join its on-site nursery provision from September 2025. This is a term-time only position, ideal for a qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner who is passionate about early childhood education and looking to work within a structured school environment.As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting young children through the crucial early stages of their development. You will be responsible for delivering engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and ensuring that every child receives the individual care and attention they need to thrive.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Support children aged 3–5 in a school-based nursery setting.
Plan and implement purposeful play-based activities that meet EYFS standards.
Carry out regular observations and assessments to monitor children’s development.
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and their families.
Work as an effective member of the nursery and wider school team.
Ensure the safety, well-being, and safeguarding of all children in your care.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to parents’ meetings and reports.
Provide consistent support as a reliable and proactive Level 3 Nursery Practitioner.
Person Specification – Level 3 Nursery Practitioner:
Hold a full and recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
Possess an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
Have recent experience working as a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, preferably within a nursery class or early years unit.
Be knowledgeable about the EYFS and confident in delivering curriculum-based learning.
Show initiative, enthusiasm, and a nurturing approach to supporting children’s development.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills with children, staff, and parents.
