Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Watford
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: Immediate

We are an education recruitment agency currently seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a well-regarded school in Watford. This is an immediate start position for a motivated individual who is keen to support pupils and contribute positively to a classroom setting.

This role would suit someone who is committed, adaptable, and confident in supporting children with a range of learning needs across the school day.


About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help deliver effective learning and ensure pupils feel supported, engaged, and safe at school.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing classroom support to teachers during lessons

  • Working one-to-one or with small groups to reinforce learning

  • Assisting pupils with classwork and educational activities

  • Supporting children with additional needs, including SEN where appropriate

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Helping to maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment

  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times, and school activities

  • Adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies

  • Communicating effectively with teaching and support staff


Candidate Requirements

To be suitable for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one without delay

  • Have previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)

  • Be patient, reliable, and enthusiastic about working in education

  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be able to follow guidance and work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Show flexibility and a willingness to support where needed

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
