Nursery Teacher (Part-Time)
Location: Watford
Start Date: Mid-January
Setting: Nursery class within a Primary School
Working Pattern: 5 mornings per week + 0.5 day PPA (equivalent to four half-days and one full day)About the School & Role
Our client, a well-regarded primary school in Watford, is seeking an experienced and motivated Nursery Teacher to join their early years team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about early years education and confident in delivering high-quality provision within a school-based nursery setting.As the appointed Nursery Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging learning opportunities, supporting children’s development, and working closely with support staff and the wider early years team.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver EYFS-focused lessons tailored to the needs and interests of the nursery cohort.
Establish a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes children’s independence and social, emotional, and academic development.
Carry out assessments, observations, and tracking to ensure accurate monitoring of progress.
Work collaboratively with nursery staff, school leadership, and parents/carers to support every child.
Maintain a well-organised learning space and ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.
Participate in meetings, training, and school-based activities as required.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent early years qualification (strongly preferred).
Valid and enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through the agency.
Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and experience working in a nursery or early years classroom.
Confident classroom management and the ability to engage young learners effectively.
Professional, reliable, and able to work independently within a supportive team.
