Job Title: SEN Teacher
Job Type: 8:30am - 4pm
Location: Newham
Salary: £150-£200 Per DayThe Role: SEN Teacher – Newham
As a SEN Teacher within a Primary School Autism Provision, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored, high-quality teaching to pupils with Autism. You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students, many of whom may have complex communication, sensory, and behavioral needs. Your teaching will focus on supporting pupils both academically and in developing essential life and social skills. Working closely with a team of experienced support staff, the SENCO, and external professionals, you will ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
You will be joining a well-resourced and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets that is committed to outstanding SEN provision. The school has a dedicated autism unit which caters to children from Reception to Year 6, offering small class sizes and specialist support. Staff are highly valued and supported through regular CPD, mentoring, and a collaborative culture that promotes innovation and child-centered practice.
A SEN Teacher will be expected to:
• Deliver personalised and engaging lessons to a small group of students with autism, across EYFS and Primary age groups.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet a range of communication and sensory needs.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to implement EHCP targets and behaviour strategies.
• Develop pupils' social, emotional, and communication skills through structured routines and visual supports.
• Monitor progress closely and contribute to regular reviews, reports, and meetings with families and professionals.Qualifications and requirements – SEN Teacher – Newham
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching in a SEN setting, preferably with children with Autism
• Strong understanding of autism and strategies to support learning and behaviour
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
