Job Type: 8:30am - 4pm
Location: Southwark
Salary: £230- £260 Per DayThe Role: SENCO – Southwark
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join a thriving primary school in Southwark on a temporary to permanent basis. As the school’s SENCO, you will take a leading role in coordinating and overseeing the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. You will be responsible for managing EHCP processes, supporting teachers with differentiated planning, and working closely with external agencies and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
This is a strategic role requiring a strong understanding of SEN legislation, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to build positive, supportive relationships with staff, families, and professionals. You will also be involved in the development of whole-school SEN policies and inclusive practices, ensuring that all pupils have access to a high-quality, inclusive education.

A SENCO will be expected to:
• Lead the strategic development of SEN provision across the school
• Manage and oversee EHCP processes, including applications, reviews, and reporting
• Support and advise staff on differentiated teaching and learning strategies
• Liaise with external professionals, agencies, and parents/carers
• Monitor and track progress of SEND pupils and adjust provision accordingly
• Promote inclusive practice and contribute to whole-school improvementQualifications and requirements – SENCO – Southwark
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Substantial SEN teaching experience in a UK primary school
• Previous experience working as a SENCO (essential)
• National Award for SEN Coordination (desirable but not essential for the right candidate)
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
