SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Haringey
Educate Staffing is looking for a dedicated and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the London Borough of Haringey. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, suited to individuals who are passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) reach their full potential.
The school has a strong reputation for inclusion and is seeking someone who can bring patience, empathy, and enthusiasm to the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to provide tailored assistance that meets the needs of individual pupils.
Main Duties:
Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, adapting approaches to suit different learning needs.
Assist teachers in modifying lessons and resources so that learning is accessible to all pupils.
Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills both inside and outside the classroom.
Provide behavioural and emotional support where required, following individual education plans (IEPs).
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure pupils receive consistent care and guidance.
Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with the wider teaching team.
Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.
Candidate Profile:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with pupils and staff.
A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one through Educate Staffing.
