SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Camden
Educate Staffing is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the London Borough of Camden. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The school is proud of its inclusive ethos and is looking for someone with patience, empathy, and resilience to provide tailored support to pupils both inside and outside of the classroom. Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to make learning accessible and engaging.
Encourage independence and social interaction, helping pupils to develop confidence and life skills.
Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, or physical needs in line with their individual education plans (IEPs).
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver consistent and effective support.
Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with teaching staff.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment at all times.
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.
Patience, resilience, and adaptability when working with pupils who may present challenging behaviour.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one through Educate Staffing.
