Job Title: Nursery Nurse
Job Type: 8am -6pm, September Start
Location: Hackney
Salary: Up to £16 Per Hour
The Role: Nursery Nurse – Hackney

In this role, you’ll work closely with your key children, observing and tracking their progress, and tailoring learning opportunities to suit their individual needs. You’ll take an active part in planning and delivering creative, play-based activities that promote development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. You’ll also work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure a consistent, caring approach and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers to keep them informed and involved in their child’s journey. Whether it’s story time, outdoor play, messy fun, or quiet reassurance, you’ll be there to guide and support with warmth and professionalism.
A Nursery Nurse will be expected to:
- Plan, prepare, and lead age-appropriate activities and experiences in line with EYFS
- Support children’s development across all areas: cognitive, physical, emotional, and social
- Take responsibility as a Key Person, maintaining accurate records and learning journals
- Ensure the environment is clean, safe, and engaging
- Work closely with parents and carers to build strong home-nursery relationships
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
- Provide guidance and support to Level 2 staff, students, and apprentices as needed
Qualifications and requirements – Nursery Nurse – Hackney
- Level 3 Qualification in Early Years
- Experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
- Experience working with SEND needs
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
