The Role
We are looking for a qualified Science Teacher (QTS essential) who can teach across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful applicant will have a strong grasp of their subject specialism—whether Biology, Chemistry, or Physics—and will be capable of delivering engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons to a diverse and motivated student body.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching general Science across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 specialism
Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons aligned with the curriculum
Monitoring and assessing student progress regularly, using data to inform instruction
Maintaining high standards of classroom behaviour and discipline
Contributing to departmental planning, resource development, and wider school initiatives
Participating in parents’ evenings, CPD sessions, and extra-curricular science activities
Supporting the school’s vision, values, and commitment to safeguarding
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or combined)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level in the UK
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
Ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students of all abilities
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Ability to teach a Science specialism at A-Level
Experience working in an Ofsted Outstanding or high-achieving school
A track record of excellent pupil outcomes
Willingness to contribute to STEM clubs, trips, and other enrichment activities
