The Role

We are looking for a qualified Science Teacher (QTS essential) who can teach across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful applicant will have a strong grasp of their subject specialism—whether Biology, Chemistry, or Physics—and will be capable of delivering engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons to a diverse and motivated student body.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching general Science across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 specialism

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons aligned with the curriculum

  • Monitoring and assessing student progress regularly, using data to inform instruction

  • Maintaining high standards of classroom behaviour and discipline

  • Contributing to departmental planning, resource development, and wider school initiatives

  • Participating in parents’ evenings, CPD sessions, and extra-curricular science activities

  • Supporting the school’s vision, values, and commitment to safeguarding

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or combined)

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level in the UK

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum

  • Ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students of all abilities

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Ability to teach a Science specialism at A-Level

  • Experience working in an Ofsted Outstanding or high-achieving school

  • A track record of excellent pupil outcomes

  • Willingness to contribute to STEM clubs, trips, and other enrichment activities
