We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Teacher to join a supportive and vibrant early years setting in Welwyn Hatfield starting September 2025.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where you will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom that supports the development of children aged 3-5 years. You will play a key role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning by delivering high-quality teaching and care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring, age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote children’s development across all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
Observe, assess, and record each child’s progress and development, using this information to tailor learning experiences to individual needs.
Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues to support the holistic development and wellbeing of each child.
Manage behaviour sensitively and effectively to ensure a calm and productive learning environment.
Collaborate with early years practitioners and other professionals to enhance children’s learning experiences and outcomes.
Contribute actively to the wider school community, including participating in staff meetings, training, and school events.
Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare and safety of all children in your care.
Person Specification / Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) is essential.
Proven experience teaching or working in a nursery or early years setting.
A deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and best practices in early childhood education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children, including those with additional needs.
A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine passion for early years education.
Strong organisational skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children.
