We are currently recruiting for a dedicated KS1 Teacher to join a forward-thinking primary school in Hertsmere starting September 2025.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed teacher who is eager to make a positive impact on children’s early education. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to children in Years 1 and 2, creating a safe and stimulating classroom where all pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 National Curriculum to meet the diverse needs of all pupils.
Assess and track pupil progress regularly, using formative and summative assessment tools to inform planning and interventions.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, resilience, and a love of learning.
Promote excellent behaviour and manage classroom dynamics effectively to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to support pupils’ well-being and academic development.
Contribute to school-wide initiatives, curriculum development, and whole-school events.
Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all children in your care.
Person Specification / Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Proven experience teaching KS1 pupils, with a thorough understanding of EYFS and KS1 frameworks and assessment requirements.
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young children.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
A positive, patient, and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for early years education.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child protection.
