Job Title: SEN Primary Teacher
Job Type: 8 am – 4pm
Location: Sutton
Salary: £150- £210 Per day
The Role: SEN Primary Teacher – Sutton
In this role, you will be teaching a small class of 7 pupils with non-verbal autism, delivering engaging and personalised lessons across Key Stages 1 and 2. You’ll be supported by a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, ensuring a high level of individual support and collaboration in the classroom. The curriculum is tailored to meet the specific needs of each pupil, with a strong focus on communication, sensory integration, and life skills development. You will use a range of specialist strategies and tools, such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables, to support engagement and progress, while creating a nurturing, structured environment where every child can thrive.
As a SEN Primary Teacher you will be expected to:
- Teach a small class of 7 pupils with non-verbal autism, using a personalised and structured approach to learning.
- Plan and deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons that meet pupils' individual needs, in line with EHCPs and tailored learning objectives.
- Use visual aids and specialist strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.
- Foster a nurturing and safe learning environment where every child can develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
- Monitor student development and create reports
- Liaise with parents, carers, staff and external agencies
Qualifications and requirements – SEN Primary Teacher – Sutton
- QTS is required
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Extentensive experience with SEN needs students, particularly non verbal Autism
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
