Job Title: Special Needs Teacher
Job Type: 8am – 4pm
Location: London
Salary: £140- £200 Per Day
The Role: Special Needs Teacher – London
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a small group of pupils with diverse needs, including Autism, speech and language difficulties and social, emotional and mental health challenges.. You will be supported by experienced teaching assistants and work collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, and other professionals to implement effective learning strategies and interventions.
You will design and deliver tailored, creative lessons that reflect each student’s Education, Health and Care Plan, adapting your teaching style to suit varying levels of ability and learning preferences whilst creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment that promotes pupils’ self-confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
A Special Needs Teacher you will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external professionals
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers
- Support the emotional, social, and behavioural development of pupils
Qualifications and requirements – Special Needs Teacher – London
- QTS is required
- Expeirence working with SEN students in a mainstream or SEN environment
- Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Challenging behaviour
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
