Computer Science Teacher (Secondary)

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Computer Science Teacher to join our thriving secondary school community in Bishop’s Stortford. This is a permanent position commencing in September 2025, suitable for a qualified and motivated educator who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of digital innovators.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will be expected to contribute to the continued development of a high-performing department, foster a love of learning in your students, and promote the importance of digital literacy in an increasingly technology-driven world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that cater to a range of student abilities

  • Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school and national guidelines

  • Contribute to the development of curriculum resources and schemes of work

  • Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives, CPD, and enrichment activities

  • Uphold the school's values, policies, and commitment to safeguarding and student well-being

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has a proven ability to teach Computer Science confidently across all secondary key stages, including A Level

  • Shows a willingness to contribute to extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities

  • Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
