Job Type: 8:30am – 4pm, ASAP Start
Location: Newham
Salary: £96 - £120 Per day
The Role: School Administrator – Newham
As the School Administratoryou will be the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere at the heart of the school. Your responsibilities will include managing the school’s front desk, handling telephone and email enquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day administration of the school office. This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, a friendly and approachable manner, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while upholding high standards of confidentiality and safeguarding.
A School Administrator will be expected to:
- Welcome visitors, students, and parents with warmth and professionalism
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently
- Support the leadership team and teaching staff with daily administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate records, pupil registers, and databases using SIMS
- Assist with attendance monitoring and reporting
- Help organise school communications, letters, and newsletters
- Handle enquiries and offer general support to staff and families
- Maintain safeguarding procedures, including visitor sign-in and ID checks
Qualifications and requirements – School Administrator – Newham
- Experience working on SIMS
- Experience working in a similar school administration role
- Enhanced DBS is required
- Excellent IT literacy in using Microsoft software e.g. outlook, Word, Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
