Year 2 Class Teacher – Maternity Cover (Harrow)
Location: Harrow, North West London
Contract: Fixed-term (1 year maternity cover, with potential for extension)
Start Date: December 2025
Salary: £150 - £170 per dayAbout the Role
Educate Staffing is working in partnership with a welcoming, well-established, two form-entry primary school in Harrow that is seeking a Year 2 Teacher to join their dedicated team from December. This position is to cover a maternity leave for one academic year, with a strong possibility of extension or permanency for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will take full class teaching responsibility for a well-behaved and enthusiastic Year 2 class. You will be supported by a committed leadership team, experienced support staff, and a collaborative KS1 teaching team who share planning and resources.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
Assess, record, and report on pupils’ progress and attainment
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil development
Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its values and ethos
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recent teaching experience within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2
A clear understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping pupils achieve their full potential
