Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term (1 Year – Maternity Cover)
Salary: Main Pay Scale (Outer London)
Start Date: December 2025A well-regarded and welcoming primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to take on a Year 2 class from December 2025. This position is a one-year maternity cover, with strong potential for extension or a permanent role thereafter.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT looking to complete their induction year in a supportive environment where staff well-being, development, and collaboration are highly valued.
The Role
Teaching a Year 2 class within a well-structured and supportive KS1 team.
Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
Tracking pupil progress, maintaining accurate records, and delivering high standards of teaching and learning.
Working closely with colleagues, SLT, and parents to ensure children reach their full potential.
Fully participating in school life, contributing to the positive ethos and community spirit.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
Ideally some experience in Key Stage 1, whether through placements or prior roles.
A clear understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
Strong classroom management, organisation, and communication skills.
A positive, reflective approach and commitment to professional growth.
A valid enhanced DBS (on the update service or willingness to apply).
