Job Title: Class Teacher

Job Type: 8 am – 4pm  

Location: Sutton

Salary: £150- £210 Per day

The Role: Class Teacher – Sutton

As a Year 1 Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for the learning, progress, and well-being of a lively and diverse group of pupils. You will plan, deliver, and assess creative and engaging lessons that meet the needs of children working at different stages of development, while working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure every child, including those with SEND, can access the curriculum. You will foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. You will also build strong relationships with parents and carers, working in partnership to support each child’s journey, and play an active role within the wider school community.

As a Class Teacher you will be expected to:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and additional needs.
• Monitor, assess, and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback and setting targets for improvement.
• Create a stimulating, well-organised, and safe classroom environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to provide effective support and interventions.
• Develop positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupils’ learning and well-being.
• Promote positive behaviour and implement consistent strategies to support social and emotional development.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including assemblies, trips, and extra-curricular activities.
• Engage in professional development to enhance teaching practice and contribute to whole-school improvement.

Qualifications and requirements –Class Teacher – Sutton

• QTS is required
• Enhanced DBS is required
• Previous experience teaching a Year 1 class of students
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
