Job Title: Reception Teacher

Job Type: 8am – 4pm, September Start  

Location: Hackney

Salary: £140- £200 Per Day

The Role: Reception Teacher – Hackney  

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, child-centred lessons that spark curiosity and promote early development. Working closely with our Early Years team and teaching assistants, you'll create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment aligned with the EYFS framework.

You’ll support children in developing key early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills through a balance of play-based and structured learning. Building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents will be central to your role in helping every pupil feel confident, secure, and ready to learn.

As a Reception Teacher you will be expected to:

• Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Foster children’s personal, social, emotional, and academic development.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported.
• Use observations and assessments to inform planning and track progress.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Plan and deliver a balance of play-based and structured learning activities.
• Support the development of early reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy skills.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being in a calm, supportive manner.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil development and contribute to learning journals.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to meet individual learning needs.
• Engage in regular communication with parents and carers, including through parent meetings and reports.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects

Qualifications and requirements – Reception Teacher – Hackney

• QTS is required
• Enhanced DBS is required
• Previous experience teaching the EYFS curriculum is ideal
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
