EYFS Class Teacher – Watford
Position: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Class Teacher
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:45pm
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: Competitive salary, dependent on experience and pay scaleA welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Watford is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Class Teacher to join their early years team on a full-time basis from September 2025. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for an EYFS class, working closely with experienced early years practitioners to deliver an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the EYFS framework
Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes curiosity and independence
Monitor and assess pupil progress through observations, learning journals and formative assessments
Work closely with support staff, SENCO and leadership to meet the needs of all pupils
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
Contribute to a vibrant learning environment through displays, events and enrichment activities
Uphold school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, inclusion and assessment
Attend staff meetings, INSET training and contribute to whole-school development
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
Recent teaching experience in an EYFS setting within a UK school
Secure understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and statutory assessment framework
A nurturing, child-centred approach with a strong commitment to inclusive education
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
A collaborative and proactive attitude with the ability to work well within a team
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one prior to start)
