Part-Time PPA Teacher – EYFS/KS1 – Watford

Position: PPA Cover Teacher (EYFS/KS1)
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Working Days: 3 to 4 days per week
Hours: 8:30am – 3:45pm
Contract Type: Part-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: Competitive daily rate, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic PPA Teacher to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Watford. This is a part-time position covering EYFS and Key Stage 1 classes, with no planning or marking responsibilities. The role is ideal for a committed professional looking to maintain a healthy work-life balance while contributing meaningfully to pupils’ early education.


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS and KS1 classes to cover teacher PPA time

  • Ensure a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment

  • Build positive relationships with pupils and support their academic and personal development

  • Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies

  • Liaise with class teachers and support staff to ensure continuity of learning

  • Adapt lessons as needed to meet the needs of individual learners


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential

  • Recent experience teaching in EYFS and/or KS1 in the UK

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A flexible, reliable, and professional approach to covering a range of classes

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and safeguarding responsibilities
