Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential for extension or permanency)About the Role:
A well-regarded secondary school in the London Borough of Harrow is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join their dedicated team from September 2025. This is a full-time teaching role covering the full academic year, with the possibility of a permanent appointment thereafter.The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Key Stage 5 considered an advantage. You will be expected to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons, assess student progress regularly, and contribute to the wider mathematics department through collaborative planning and participation in departmental meetings and school initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the mathematics curriculum effectively to students in KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with national curriculum guidelines
Monitor and report on student progress, offering additional support where necessary
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and academic achievement
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school
Participate in departmental and whole-school professional development initiatives
Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities as required
Person Specification:
Proven experience teaching Mathematics at secondary school level
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable, though not essential for the right candidate with significant relevant experience
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education
Effective classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
