The Role: History Teacher – Redbridge

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic History Teacher to join a dedicated Humanities team, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire a love of History in students and help them understand the relevance of the past in today’s world.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that stretch and challenge all learners, while fostering critical thinking, empathy, and a strong sense of historical enquiry. At Key Stage 3, you’ll build strong foundations, encouraging curiosity about British and world history. At Key Stage 4, you will guide students through the GCSE curriculum, supporting them to achieve their full academic potential.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or a talented ECT, you will receive comprehensive support from our collaborative and forward-thinking department.

A History Teacher will be expected to:

• Deliver stimulating and well-structured History lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan schemes of work and adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Assess, track, and report on student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages enquiry and respect for different viewpoints.
• Support students in preparing for examinations and coursework.
• Contribute to the wider school life, including extracurricular activities, trips, and history-related events.

• QTS
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Strong written and communication skills
• Strong ICT knowledge
